Construction Updates

image002.jpg?id=16605&token=5c8068c85af20a0b32d033cc02e95711Asphalt paving is almost complete from Dodgeville to Ridgeway on USH 18.  Crews are placing the final lift of asphalt.  Work will continue over the next couple of weeks to finish shouldering, guard rail and pavement markings.

 

For the week of June 1st, anticipated work from CTH Z to Ridgeway includes:

  • Eastbound –
    • Milling
    • Asphalt paving of the passing lane
    • Aggregate Shoulder

Westbound –

  •         *  Aggregate shoulder
    • Guard Rail installation
    • Milling
    • Asphalt paving of the passing lane
    • Asphalt paving of median crossovers
    • The median at CTH Y/YZ will be CLOSED to cross traffic and left turning traffic on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday to complete surface paving operations.  Only Right Turns will be allowed in and out of CTH Y and CTH YZ 

Work will resume from Ridgeway to East County Line mid-week, and single lane closures will occur. The contractors have items to finish at various locations throughout this 9 mile stretch.

Speed limit is reduced to 55mph throughout the work zone. Please slow down and drive with caution through all work zones!

 For the week of May 25th, anticipated work from CTH Z to Ridgeway includes:

  • Eastbound –
    • Aggregate Shoulder
    • Milling of passing lane from CTH Z to CTH Y
    • Asphalt paving

 

  • Westbound –
    • Asphalt paving
    • Aggregate shoulder
    • Guard Rail installation
    • CTH YZ will be CLOSED at USH 18 on Wednesday May 27th and May 28th
    • Westbound On Ramp from Ridgeview will be closed for paving on May 27th and May 28th

 

Speed limit is reduced to 55mph throughout the work zone. Please slow down and drive with caution through all work zones!

Iowa County Planning & Zoning Committee Meeting

A QUORUM of the Town Board & the Land Use Commission may be in attendance at the Iowa County Planning & Zoning Committee Meeting to be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 6 PM in the Community Room, HHS Building, 303 W. Chapel Street, Dodgeville.  The public may attend in person at the location stated.  However, due to the need to maintain social distancing in accordance with Wisconsin DHS Emergency Order (Safer At Home Order) & the limited physical space available, the public is encouraged & requested to also attend via electronic means.  For additional information contact the County Clerk at 608.935.0399.

204-05-72 USH 18 Iowa County – Construction Update for week of 5/4/20

USH 18 Construction continues.  This past week proved challenging with the forecasted rain, but the contractors will complete base patching for eastbound driving lane today, and will continue back on westbound passing lane tomorrow.

Lane closures on USH 18 remain.  Please slow down and drive with caution through all work zones!

For the week of May 4th, anticipated work from CTH Z to Ridgeway includes:

  • Eastbound –
    • Curb and gutter at CTH Y
    • Asphalt pavement binder lift from Y to Ridgeway
    • Shoulder along eastbound passing lane
    • Temporary pavement marking
  • Westbound –
    • Sawing of concrete
    • Removal of concrete (work will begin at 3am)
    • Pouring of concrete base patching
    • Concrete curing
    • CTH YZ will be closed at USH 18 Thursday May 7th and Friday May 8th, opening up by Saturday morning.
    • Work at YZ includes concrete base patching, curb and gutter, and island work

Speed limit is reduced to 55mph throughout the work zone.

Assessor Visit Notice

ATTENTION:  TOWN OF RIDGEWAY PROPERTY OWNERS

The Town is currently going through an exterior view revaluation which will be complete by late summer of 2020.  With the current COVID19 restrictions, David Toennies, Town Assessor, would like to complete the work with as little face-to-face contact as possible.  Buildings will be reviewed for depreciation, size, condition, etc. & land classifications will be reviewed.  Assessor will be driving a 2006 Black Honda Ridgeline Pickup Truck.  Hours would be 8 AM – 5 PM Mondays through Fridays beginning the first part of May.  Any questions call 608.826.0009 or email [email protected].


Construction Updates

As an update to this week, the contractors have indicated that they will start concrete removals at 3am on week days. This is anticipated for the next 3-4 weeks.

USH 18 Construction continues.  This past week night time temps were below freezing which didn’t allow contractors to pour concrete on the highway.

    • Sawing of concrete
    • Removal of concrete (work will begin at 5am)
    • Pouring of concrete base patching

    • Sawing of concrete
    • Mid-week – removal of concrete (work will begin at 5am)
    • Pouring of concrete base patching
    • Concrete curing
