September 9, 2009 Monthly Meeting
TOWN OF RIDGEWAY REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING September 9, 2009 Board Members Present: Robert Thomas, Rich Strutt, Ken Bartz, Melody Scheckel, Nancy Parkos Others Present: Bob Olson & LeRoy Strutt Meeting called to order by Robert Thomas at 6:30 PM. Minutes of August 5, 2009 meeting presented & reviewed. Thomas made a motion to approve minutes Strutt second. Motion carried Declared a legal meeting, notice posted at Town Hall, Farmers Savings Bank – Ridgeway Branch, Ridgeway Post Office, Hyde Store & Website. Board members met at 6 PM at 6622 Moon Road regarding fence issues with the Hunts. Motion made by Thomas that the Hunts will put the fence behind two marked trees & remove west end set posts back 20 feet from the center of road. Motion made by Thomas & second by Strutt. Motion carried. Thomas had talked with a man who wants to present Wind Energy information to the area & would include the Land Use Committee.. The charge is $75 plus mileage. Bartz had talked with Kay Johnson regarding Ridgevue Road & she said it could be postponed until next year. Motion made by Thomas to postpone the Ridgevue Road Improvement Project until next year. Strutt second. Motion Carried. Bob Olson discussed with the Board on a zoning change for 22.52 acres. Olson will take this to the Land Use Commission Meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Discussed Town & Country Sanitation new 5 year contract. Clerk checking with Faherty & Waste Management for their charges. Township has 300 fire signs & approximately 225 permanent residents. Tabled at this time. Reviewed email from Bob Metcalf with Farmers Savings Bank regarding a line of credit for $50,000 for the operation of the township from September 2008 to September 2009. The loan was for 1 year & complies with regulations for townships to have an operating line of credit. The town had funds coming from FEMA in the amount of $25,000 which in turn paid the line of credit down to zero. Board discussed paying off loan(s). Clerk will call FSB to see if penalty for early payoff. Board discussed the school board minutes being taken by Carrie Klenko & the Towns representative at the meetings. Bartz made a motion to post a sign by the copy machine for making copies. 10 cents for black copies & 25 cents for color copies. Strutt seconded. Motion carried. Annual Budget Hearing will be held Saturday, October 17th at 9 AM. Next month’s meeting to be Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 at 6:30 PM. At 8:55 PM Bartz made a motion to adjourn & Strutt second.
