SPECIAL MEETING June 16, 2008 Special meeting with the Village of Ridgeway Board called to discuss Future plans for the Ridgeway School. Call to order by Bob Thomas, Chairman Declared legal meeting – notice posted in Town Hall, Bank and Post Office Discussion held on school issues and the possibility of buying land in the Village With the Town and Village jointly purchase and land and present the idea of Using the land for building a Elementary School to the School Board with the Understanding that the land would always used for a school. A legal written Agreement stating that the Town and Village boards would be giving the land To the Dodgeville School Board stating a ‘most need’ situation is that the Elementary School located in Ridgeway is a must. John Steen, Village Board President spoke about having a joint meeting with The Town and the Dodgeville School Board should be held . A Public Hearing With a class 2 notice published and posted for June 23, 2008 as allowed in Wis Stat 60.10 (e) (g) allows a town board to purchase land and dispose of the Land if it is deemed necessary . Vote was taken to go forward with the plan to purchase land in the Village or Ridgeway that is for sale at a cost of $90,000 each for the purpose of donating It to the School Board for a future site of a School. Everyone present voted YES. Review of sealcoat bids. After discussion, Rich Strutt made a motion that based On a site examination done the roads done previous years by Fahner did not meet Town expectations and comparing bids the town will accept bid from Scott Construction. Motion second by Tom McGraw motion carried. Discussion held on hauling of Pea gravel price/ton hauled to Quarry and delivering Sample of pea gravel to Donny by July 1, 2008. Discussion held on the town needing to purchase a camera for the purpose of getting Pictures of road damage . Rich volunteered to look into the camera availability. The Emergency Management Plan for the Town of Ridgeway was discussed and A new Emergency Management Coordinator to replace Dave Phillips who has Moved out of the Town. The Coordinator is responsible for activating the Town Emergency Operations Center. Decision postponed until the July 2 regular Monthly board meeting.
