TOWN OF RIDGEWAY
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
February 9, 2008
Members Present – Bob Thoomas, Tom McGraw, Rich Strutt
Marian Strutt, Melody Sheckel
Others Present – Adam Phillipson, Anitta Walczakl, Dennis Phillips,
Joe Thomas
Call to Order – Chairman Bob Thomas
Minutes of meeting of January 5, 2008 presented in writing, reviewed
and approved.
Discussion on snowmobile trails crossing town roads. John McSherry
presented an
An explanation of how trails are laid out and they have received
easements from
Land owners when necessary. Bob Thomas suggested that next fall when
trails are
Planned that a meeting with Town Board so that they can review the
plan.
Adam Phillipson appeared to present his application for rezoning 38
acres located at
4100 Ridgevue Road. He was advised to get on the agenda of a meeting
with the
Land Use Commission. Then return to the Regular Town Board meeting on
March 5
With the recommendation from the Land Use Commission.
The Resolution of Approval and Notice to Municipal Officials and the
Website Contract from Town Web Design presented in writing, reviewed
and
Motion made by Rich Strutt, second by Tom McGraw to approve. The
website for
The Town of Ridgeway can now be accessed at www.townridgeway.org. The
minutes
And notices will now be posted on the town website.
Discussion held on having a joint meeting with the Village of
Ridgeway to discuss
The issue of keeping the elementary school in Ridgeway. Tom McGraw
and Bob Thomas will attend the Village meeting on February 12 2008
at 7:00 PM. Tom McGraw
Explained that he feels it is very important to get the community
involved. The School
Board is considering four different options. The first is keep the
current buildings,
Remodel the existing space and ad d on to the elementary school and
minor repairs to
the Ridgeway School. The second option is to build a new high
school , use the
old high school for elementary and district office and limited minor
work at Ridgeway.
The third option is to build a new high school, raze the high school,
build an addition
To the elementary and keep Ridgeway. The fourth option is to build
new high
School remodel the current high school for use and build an addition
at the elementary
And close Ridgeway. A possible fifty option build a new elementary
school at\
Ridgeway instead of an addition to the Dodgeville Elementary School..
Discussion held on the road project at Spring/Sunny Ridge. The
project has
Been approved by the DOT but wants a consultant hired. No action
taken..
Monthly bills presented for approval to pay.
Financial Reports using the new Computer Program called WistarWin, a
Vista Version of Wisconsin Towns Association;.
Next meeting will be March 5, 2008 at 7:30 PM
