TOWN OF RIDGEWAY REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING December 5, 2009 Board Members Present: Robert Thomas, Rich Strutt, Nancy Parkos, Melody Strutt Others Present: Jeanie Anderson, Donny Marten Meeting called to order by Robert Thomas at 9 AM. Minutes of November 2, 2009 meeting presented & reviewed. Thomas approved as read, no objections. Declared a legal meeting, notices posted at Town Hall, Farmers Savings Bank – Ridgeway Branch, Ridgeway Post Office & Website. Jeanie Anderson provided Plat of Survey. Quit Claim Deed , Wisconsin Real Estate Transfer Return, stating this is the legal documentation showing the mutually agreed upon fence line between Andersons & Gullicksons. Strutt told her to get the fence built & if Gullickson did not pay, give bill to Town to put on taxes, Anderson does not want to proceed putting the fence in, she wants the Town to have the fence erected. It is the Towns obligation, per Ms. Anderson. The Town did have a fence installed & put on the landowners’ taxes a couple years ago. Ms. Anderson wants the same treatment as given to others in the past. Supervisor Strutt made a motion to forward information to the town legal council, stating that the Andersons do not want to proceed, wanting the Town to erect the fence as was with Wolff/Schoeneman. Chairman Thomas seconded. Motion carried. Tim & RaeAnn Butteris – tabled at this time. Written rental offers for the township & village shed opened by Strutt. Offers received from Kevin & Gerald Ihm ($210/month) & John Weier ($150/month). Motion made by Thomas to give offers to Tom McGraw for more clarification on rental from offers. Strutt second. Motion carried. Clerk provided names for election for the term of 1/1/2010 thru 12/31/2012. Marlene Ryan, Chief Inspector, Mary Jean Hughes, backup Chief Inspector & election official, Rochelle Birrenkott, election official, Jack Hughes & Carol Calhoun backup election officials. Training to be held by Audrey Rue on Tuesday, December 8th, 5 to 8:30 PM with a dinner. Motion made by Strutt to approve election workers & approve payment of dinner at meeting on the 8th at Luckys in Barneveld. Thomas Second. Motion carried. Discussion of 10 light fixtures which were excess from construction of Hall (collecting dust, per Marten & no need at Hall) -- Ridgeway Fire Department will purchase at $50/each. Strutt made motion to sell to fire department @ $50 each & Thomas second. Motion carried. Marten explained updates that would be beneficial to revamp Alamo Mower. Marten had met with Ritchie Motors & dealership for Alamo & an approximate cost not available. Strutt made a motion to proceed with revamping & Thomas second. Motion carried. Loan Payoffs – Clerk provided debt spreadsheet & recommended to payoff town hall loan in the amount of $136,028.51 on Monday, December 7th, 2009 & the Loader approximate payoff $63,000 (need to contact for final amount at time of payoff). Bartz was contacted by cell phone for his input. Strutt made a motion to payoff town hall loan & the loader. Thomas second. Motion carried. Monthly Town Board Meeting December 5, 2009 Page Two Other Concerns of Board: Treasurer shared a conversation with a disgruntled tax payer regarding year tax was paid & according to tax payer not handled properly. Discussion on a monthly bill from Alliant Energy that is for street lights. Determined this bill is for lights at Twin Court, Hi Point & County Road BB. Donny to contact county regarding a salt bill the Town owes. Johnson & Block audit information received to perform a procedure audit. Agenda item for next month. January’s meeting to be Saturday, January 9th, 2010 @ 9 AM. Thomas made a motion at 10:50 AM to adjourn & Strutt second. Motion carried. Nancy Parkos/Clerk
