Town of Ridgeway 2009 Annual Meeting Tuesday, April 14, 2009 Board Members Present: Bob Thomas/Chairman, Tom McGraw, Rich Strutt & Ken Bartz/Supervisors, Nancy Parkos/Clerk, Melody Scheckel/Treasurer Others in attendance: Twila Thomas, Marian Strutt, Todd Zimmerman & Roger Parkos The 2009 annual meeting was called to order at 8 PM by Bob Thomas, Chairman at the Town of Ridgeway, 6300 Prairie Road, Ridgeway. Minutes of the Annual Meeting of April 9, 2008 presented in writing & read by the clerk & reviewed. Motion made by Bob Thomas to approve the minutes as presented & motion seconded by Tom McGraw. Motion carried. Treasurers report for 2008 presented & reviewed. Members would like to have the prior year to compare. Thomas asked if the special charge on fencing was paid & treasurer reported paid with taxes. Questioned the $9,000 loan & verified it was dated in 2009 & the 1st payment is not due until December 2009. Motion was made to accept as presented by McGraw & R Strutt seconded. Motion carried. Todd Zimmerman of Timmerman’s Talents L.L.C. presented a quote for a solar system (renewable energy system). Discussed solar versus wind generators & answered questions. Board will contact Alliant Representative, Bob Bowman 608/364-6524 or cell 608/751-3860 to review pros & cons. Board will also contact Hilgenberg or Schultz office to setup an appointment with a representative to discuss stimulus package(s) available. Clerk & treasurer to check out recycling costs of appliances, computers & tires for Clean Sweep. Need to put on township letter. Important to update website will all information. Discussion of annual salaries from the Budget Hearing in October verified salary for Clerk/$8,000, Treasurer/$6,000 effective May 1, 2009. Clerks salary includes monthly meeting attendance. Clerk to be paid $10/hour for extra meetings. The Chairman & Supervisors receive mileage from their home to meetings. Date for the 2010 Town Annual Meeting is April 13th, 2010 @ 7 PM. Meeting adjourned at 9:20 PM by Bartz & seconded by McGraw.
